KidStrings Box
Why do I need KidStrings Box?

If you’ve ever racked your brain trying to figure out how to get your child to practice (or more than they are)…enter KidStrings Box. Each month’s music and lessons have been carefully crafted by a team of educators (and parents!) who understand how to motivate and inspire, but have fun doing it.

We are the one-stop-shop for a fun way to learn how to practice and actually enjoy doing it. What’s not to love about that?

What age is the box recommended for?
This box is designed for the string string musician who has been studying their instrument for three years or less, ideally ages 8-12! We make every effort to customize each box with the needs of each of our subscribers. Have a request or suggestion, send us an email!
What should we expect in our bi-monthly box?
Each box has a theme: for example, our February box was Berlioz and his Symphonie fantastique. We include that month’s music, specially arranged to correspond with what they are learning in school and lessons. Along with that, they will learn fun facts about the music and the composer, as well as a tiered lesson that meets your musician at their skill and ability level. In addition, we include 2-3 accessories for their specific instrument, 1-2 fun items related to the theme to use right off the bat, AND a one-of-a-kind t-shirt or wearable to show off at school and with friends. And always another surprise or two, of course!
When do I get my box?
We ship all boxes on or about the 15th of every other month (if the 15th lands on a Sunday or holiday, we ship the next day).

If you order before the 12th of the shipping month (April, June, August, October, December, or February), you will receive that month’s box. Then your renewal will process on the 25th for the next shipping month.

So, if you sign up for a 6-month plan (paying bi-monthly) on March 17th, you’ll be charged for the at that time for the April box that ships on April 15. Then you’ll be billed on April 25 for the June box shipping on June 15, and so on.

If you sign up for a pre-paid plan, the above holds true but you will only be billed once at the time of your checkout.

My child just got/is getting a violin for Christmas/Birthday. Is this appropriate for them?
First off, Congratulations to your child for choosing such an awesome instrument! Yes, this box will work well to motivate your child, teach them all about their instrument, and help educate them on the string music repertoire. Each lesson has three levels, so it works for beginners who have never played, on up to those who have been playing for a while!
Can siblings use the same box?
Ideally each sibling should have their own box, as each box is designed to be used by one person. In fact, each month’s box will often include accessories that may have a specific size just for the recipient.
So I guess this means I don't need to pay a private teacher?
No, not at all. If your child takes lessons currently, they will be able to use the tips and techniques right away, and if all goes like it should, the learning will actually accelerate. If your child doesn’t have a private teacher, then you will quickly find that the educational materials we have included can be self-directed as well as work with classroom goals.

Rest assured, I am a string teacher myself, and I developed this box in consultation with other respected private teachers, classroom teachers, and education professionals from across the country.

When and where do boxes ship?
Boxes will ship on our around the 15th of every other month (April, June, August, October, December, and Februaryt) and usually deliver within 5-7 business days. Boxes going to Hawaii, Alaska, or APO/FPO/DPO addresses may take longer transit times. We always ship for free within the US. $15 USD/box for Canada orders.
